AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION
- To encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards and promote the process of Toxicology
- To highlight the importance and raise the standards of treatment in relation to poisoning.
- To co-operate with other scientific Associations.
- To encourage and publish important research in all branches of Toxicology
- To represent internationally the research work carried out in Toxicology in India.
- To advise the Central Govt/ State Govt/ Union Territory Administration and other governmental bodies on matters pertaining to Toxicology.
- To organize and arrange meetings and symposia on Toxicology and allied subjects.
- To serve and administer funds, grants, endowments, etc., for the furtherance of research in Toxicology
- To own and acquire, administer, and dispose of properties movable and immovable of the Society
- To generally do all such things as may widen, improve and develop the education and knowledge of those actively concerned in the pursuit of the subject of Toxicology
The Society shall not make any profit nor award bonus to any of its members but may pay remuneration to the members of its permanent staff. In addition, it may award prizes and research grants to individuals and organizations for the advancement of Toxicology in a manner that the Society may deem fit and proper.
Fellows of the Society are entitled to use letters “F.I.S.T.” after their names as the recognized abbreviation indicative of the fellowship. The rules for fellowship will be framed by the Society, and approved by the General Body.
Article I
The name of this Society shall be the “Indian Society of Toxicology”.
Article II
The aims and objectives of this Society shall be to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standard, and advance the cause of Toxicology, and to plan, organize and administer meetings, for the stimulation and advancement of Toxicology and allied subjects.
